The aim of the Information Technology Centre (ITC) of the State Joint Stock Company "Latvian Railway" is to provide unified IT support to "Latvian Railway" for reaching its business aims, as well as to provide the strategic development of information technologies.
The main functions of ITC: - To provide centralised maintenance, development and safety of information systems in "Latvian Railway".
- To provide development, implementation and recovery of the IT strategy, standards, and other normative documentation in the "Latvian Railway" concern.
- To provide the IT services for the concern and other legal persons, in accordance with signed contracts and the servicing demands included in such contracts.
- To provide centralised development of IT projects, project coordination and quality management in the concern.
- To provide centralised IT support and development in the concern.
- To plan annual budget for the concern in the field of information technologies, and to ensure realisation of the approved budget.

The main provider of IT services to all enterprises of the concern. To improve the products and services offered ensuring their compliance with the needs of the customers.

The main provider of IT services for all companies in the "Latvian Railway" concern. To develop the offer of products and services, thus ensuring compliance with the needs of clients.
Quality management
The quality management system of Information Technology Centre of the State Joint Stock Company "Latvian Railway" was repeatedly certified in 23 July 2010. Certificate, which approves compliance of ITC management system to the international standard ISO 9001:2008, is effective from 23 July 2010 until 22 July 2013 (the system is certified since July 2004).

Quality policy
Information Technology Centre (ITC) of the State Joint Stock Company "Latvian Railway" undertakes to implement the following quality policy: - To maintain and constantly to improve the corporate information systems of the SJSC "Latvian Railway", implementing new systems and modernising the existing ones, using such technologies that allow to increase electivity and safety of information management;
- To carry out certain activities to improve competitiveness of the SJSC "Latvian Railway", thus turning up the use of information technologies in the process of carriages;
- To increase incomes from the IT services, expanding the range and volume of services provided, as well as to improve the quality of services;
- To motivate employees to participate in development of ITC processes, and in improvement of the indices.
